- Dec 11, 2011 Model 1100 serial numbers (on the receiver) started with the number 1001. All but the early guns also have a prefix letter. All Model 1100 Remington shotguns were serial numbered in blocks of numbers. Each serial number has a suffix and the following indicates the meaning: V.
- I just located another 12ga Remington 1100 with L prefix then 00 and then 4 low digits for the serial number. Remington also told me today that mine did not exist in their records either. The only 2 things I find different or kinda out of the ordinary run of the mill 1100 is it has the full choke vent ribbed 28 inch barrel instead of usual 30.
Receiver serial number starts with 'L833 ' which, based on other serial numbers I have come across, also seems to point to a 1973 build date. I'm assuming that this is a 'standard' 20 gauge 1100, so it will not take an LT barrel. Thanks for your help!
